We returned to Simac Tanning Tech, the international event with the most qualified offer of machinery and technologies for the footwear, leather goods and tanning industries, which took place in Milan, concurrently with Lineapelle from 20 to 22 February 2019.
Together with our Partners, ATOM Lab & Shoemaster, for the third consecutive year we presented a completly renewed format and a lot of news, especially dedicated to the Artificial Intelligence.
This year another important Partner was involved in the projects: X-Rite Pantone, with its immersive 3D visualization environment for evaluating material appearance.
PARTNERS
ATOM SNEAKER 2019
ATOMLab Milan (also known as ELSE Tech) presented at SIMAC 2019 a new 3D product development pipeline for Automated Cloud Rendering of ShoeMaster 3D CAD models, powered by E.L.S.E. (technology of ELSE Corp), which integrates ShoeMaster driven 3D product design process with X-Rite's AxF & Digital Materials scanning/visualization technology on a cutting edge cloud platform.

the conference where manufacturing meets design
Andrey Golub, ELSE Corp's CEO, and Sergio Dulio from ATOM were also speaking at the Conference FOOTWEARISM, that aimed to bring both audiences together for an inspiring afternoon that showed how the latest manufacturing technologies could be applied in future design and business concepts.
This meant that you should had NOT expected yet another footwear innovation conference where companies promote their new technologies individually. Instead, the Footwearists were bringing companies together in future scenarios, linking machine manufacturers to material suppliers, software developers, brands and designers that they might not have collaborated with otherwise.

COMPUTER VISION WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
We showcased for the first time an approach to improve machine vision in the manufacturing environment, based on deep learning and Artificial Intelligence. Visitors were guided through the process of model training to recognize patterns ready for cutting, not visible to traditional machine vision systems. The new AI framework can detect unexpected product defects, providing flexibility and valuable insights to manufacturer, and can be deployed using on-premise IT infrastructure.
